Andrew McGowin grew up in a pastor’s home in central Alabama. As a young man, he realized his need for salvation and made a decision to trust Christ. After surrendering to do whatever God wanted at a youth camp, God began preparing him for a call to ministry.
Andrew began playing piano at age 10 and God used this to direct him towards a music major at Ambassador Baptist College in 2012. While at Ambassador, he met his future wife, Charity, and actively served in various music groups for the school.

During his final semester at school, Pastor Gilbert and he started to communicate about the possibility of joining Lakewood Baptist Church as Assistant Pastor to help with the youth program and music. God made the way abundantly clear, and after graduating from Ambassador, Andrew interned the summer of 2016 at Lakewood before being married to Charity in August of that same year.

Following their marriage, Andrew and Charity came on staff at Lakewood Baptist Church as Assistant Pastor. Andrew and Charity have since been blessed with three children, Alayna, Ethan, and Timothy.
